Multi-user issue, cannot access file
If Quickbooks is configured for Multi-user but can’t communicate with the file, then make sure that the database user has explicit permission to access the folder where the company file is hosted.
- Go to the properties window of the folder that contains the company file.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Edit…
- If the QB Data Service User is not listed:
- Open the Computer Management Console and find the exact name in Local Users and Groups > Users.
- Click Add
- Type in the user name and click “Check Names”.
- Click OK
- Give the User Full Control.
- Otherwise, look elsewhere
