Applying credits from customer (parent) to job

Applying credits from customer (parent) to job

Credit Memos cannot be applied directly from one job to another, or the customer to the parent. This can be accomplished using any one of the following methods:
  1. Create an invoice to the customer or job that currently contains the credit. This will remove the available credit. Then create a credit memo to the applicable job that you want to credit.
  2. Simply change the name on the original credit memo to the desired job. (limitations apply)
  3. Enter two journal entries. Click here to read Intuit's recommended solution for this:http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/articles/HOW12222
